Why won’t my drivers install?

1. Run Hardware and Devices troubleshooter. If you can’t install drivers on Windows 10, then run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter to resolve the issue. This checks for commonly occurring issues and ensures any new device or hardware is correctly installed on your computer.

Once finished, select Close and restart your PC to apply the changes. Type a description for the restore point you want to create (you can use a specific date or describe it as “before clean install”, for example). Choose the drive you want to check and click Configure. After the computer restarts, the installation of the Realtek High Definition Audio Driver is complete.

If your sound is still out or there are no previous versions you can roll back to, your best bet is to reinstall the driver. Once you set your speakers as the default playback device, the issue should be completely resolved.

The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding. It is highly recommended that you print out these instructions for use as a reference during the installation process.

When the installation is complete, restart your computer whenever prompted. Right-click the file downloaded in previous step and choose "Extract All".
